Message from The Samaritans - Phone us day or night at 1 850 609090 or call in to see us, between 11am and 8:30pm at 112 Marlborough Street, Dublin 2, or write to us. It would be so wonderful if this, was a happy, joyful and peaceful time of the year for all people young and old. Sadly we in The Samaritans know that it may not be so. We know that there are those for whom Christmas and the New Year can be a very sad and lonely time. The pain of loss, isolation and the absence of love may be almost unbearable against a background of fun and festivity. To any person young or old who is troubled for whatever reason at this time, our message is, "There is a Samaritan Volunteer always there for you, who will be with you in your time of loneliness and despair".

Drug use in the home affects the whole family! Why not come along from 8pm to 10pm to The Snug Counselling Service, MACRO, 1 Green Street, for a cup of tea or coffee, and a space to discuss the issues that arise for families dealing with drug use in the home. (Phone 8786231). The meetings take place on a fortnightly basis.

Viatores Christi aims to respond to needs overseas by giving people an opportunity to share their lives (skills, profession / trade) and witness to their faith in another culture.

In order to become a VC volunteer, it is first necessary to attend an information session and subsequently our lay missionary preparatory programme. We recommend this programme for any person who is considering overseas development work.
The purpose of the information session is to provide attendees with more background information about Viatores Christi, what we offer and what is involved in working overseas as a lay missionary development worker. It also features a presentation by recently returned volunteers.
