The Parish Pastoral Council met on 14 September. The next judgement on The Dublin Report is due on 1 October and it is expected that the publication could be further delayed until as late as Christmas. Paddy will check that there is a Child Protection Policy Statement on each of the church notice-boards, and replace if necessary. The Code of Good Practice will be be uploaded in the coming weeks. Restoration Work started on repairing the roof and ceiling. Further damage was found - a number of timbers need to be replaced on the corridor near St. Anthony's Shrine. Plans for the repair of three of the windows were passed around. The cost for this work is estimated at €180,000.  Agreed to have an afternoon of reflection for all ministers in the parish followed by a meal. Will try and hold this in early Advent on a Sunday afternoon.
AOB - Brief discussion about the Padre Pio Triduum on 21 - 23 September 2009 in Church Street. Help stewarding on the evenings would be appreciated.

The Parish Pastoral Council met on 15 June and reviewed the fundraising underway in the parish. The Garda Band Concert raised €2,800 despite the poor attendance. Over half of this was raised in donations handed in to the parish. Restoration Work will start soon on the wet rot and dry rot. Also, permission has been given for the restoration of three of the windows. The cost of the work will be at least €98,000. The Dublin Report is due out soon (the Government will decide the date) and we will meet around the time of the publication of the report to organise a prayer service for all those affected by the abuse.
The Diocese wrote to thank us for completing the Child Protection Checklist and asked that the Code of Good Practice for the parish be forwarded as soon as possible. Br. Sean Kelly will be invited to join the PPC at the next meeting. He is the new deacon in the parish (ordained on 31st May 2009).

The Parish Pastoral Council met on 12 February and confirmed the speakers and themes for the Novena of Grace. A full listing is available here -
A healing service is planned to help everyone cope with the Dublin Report. No date as yet has been set but prayers and petitions will be included in the weekend intercessions from 22nd February.

The Parish Pastoral Council met on 15 January and reviewed the Advent Reflection and the Annual Mass for the Deceased. Both services went well, but weather conditions didn't help attendence. The conservtion report for the church has arrived and it is necessary to deal with dry rot and wet rot before working on the restoration of the stain glass windows. The Garda Concert will take place on 23rd April 2009. Discussion about the themes and speakers for the Novena of Grace took place before the meeting concluded.
