Parish Pastoral Council
The Parish Pastoral Council met on 31 March. Report included – 1) Parish Finances – a survey of the state of the windows will take place soon, but we need to raise money towards their conservation. 2) Diocesan Gathering on 27

April 2008 – no one was available to attend this event on the day. 3) Parish Survey – members of the PPC will call to the homes in the parish on 16
th
June, 30
th
June and 7
th
July and meet as many parishioners as possible. An introduction card with information about the parish will be available for each home. 4) Parish Retreat – further discussion about possibilities for next year. 5) Social Event – a concert is planned for October/November. 6) Stewards to assist at the First Communion on 24
th
May were agreed. The next PPC meeting takes place on 7 July 2008.
The Parish Pastoral Council met on 31 March. Report included - 1) Promoting the work of the PPC – a resume of the Novena talks was posted online each night of the Novena. It was suggested that these resumes be posted on the indoor church noticeboard. 2) Induction ceremony for PPC took place at 6pm Mass on 23

February. 3) Novena of Grace – very positive feedback those who attended (more information on Novena web page). 4) Confirmation – took place the day after the Novena. 5) Finances – there was a brief discussion about the parish finances which are low. 6) Easter Triduum – very positive feedback given that the early Easter meant that the weather restricted some of the events. The next PPC meeting takes place on 19 May 2008.
The Parish Pastoral Council met on 18 February. Reports included - 1) Induction of PPC takes place on Saturday, 23February at 6pm in Halston Street. 2) The speakers for the Novena were finalised (see News Update). 3) Plans in place for another meeting with the ministers of the word in Holy Week. The next PPC meeting takes place on 31 March.
The Parish Pastoral Council met on 14 January. Reports included - 1) Children did very well at the Christmas Vigil following only a couple of rehearsals with Sr. Ann (George’s Hill), Fr. Des and Paddy. Beautiful services in Church Street affording great experiences for people attending both churches, even though they were very different liturgies. 2) Meeting with readers on 11

December at 7pm went well despite the numbers attending being low. There will be further meetings with the readers over the coming months. 3) Meditation/Service for Advent on 17
th
December – feedback from this service was very positive. There was a very calming, meditative atmosphere, which flowed gently for the hour. 4) Annual Mass for the Deceased on 22
nd
December received a lot of praise. The bereaved appreciated being met at the door and found the Mass very healing and helpful.
Further plans for the Novena of Grace (March 2008), baptism team and support at funerals for the bereaved were mentioned and discussions on a Parish Retreat were deferred. The next PPC meeting takes place on 18 February.
