Parish Pastoral Council Notes for 2005
Parish Phone Number 8730599
Parish Pastoral Council met on 1st December and reported on the progress of the projects agreed in November. All the projects are on target.
Parish Pastoral Council met on 11th November and discussed the Ferns Report. The outcome of this discussion was published in the bulletin of 20th November. Other items discussed at the meeting included Availability of Perpetual Lamps (due to start in January 2006 in both Halston Street Church and Church Street Church); a parish gathering is being planned for everyone living in the parish. Plans are at a very early stage, but in time, help and advice will be sought from the wider community This event is likely to take place in mid March; training of parishioners in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) has taken place. Plans are in place to make this available in the parish to help adults who would like to join the Catholic Church for the first time, or who would like to return to the Catholic Church; a Directed Retreat is being organised for Lent 2006; a bereavement support group may be set up in the parish
If you have skills which you think might be of help in any one of these projects, or indeed, if you have skills which you think would benefit the parish community, please contact one of the Parish Pastoral Council.
Last Autumn we invited your nominations for the members of our new Parish Pastoral Council. The members of the Council have now been selected, and were officially commissioned on Pentecost Saturday, 14th May in Halston Street Church (6pm Mass)
