H1N1 SWINE FLU ADVICE
There have now been a significant number of confirmed cases of swine flu in Ireland and in June the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared a global flu pandemic. The Diocese is monitoring latest advice from the HSE and will provide any updated information on the Diocesan website www.dublindiocese.ieThe number of cases seems to be increasing and it is therefore important to take preventative steps to reduce the risk of contracting the virus. Respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette are key measures everyone should use at all times to prevent the transmission of respiratory infections. If you develop influenza-like symptoms you should: Stay at home to avoid spreading infection to others and remain off work for at least 7 days or until the symptoms have subsided. Contact your GP/ Family doctor by phone to explain the situation or phone the HSE Information Line 1850 241 850 (8am -8pm Mon -Sat) or call the HSE Flu Information Line (recorded information ) Free Phone 1800 94 11 00.

Since the end of the 2009 accounting year, a further €161,514.92 has been paid out for the building and repair work in Halston Street. Added to this, the cost of supplies necessary for the running of the parish continued to increase during 2009. Thankfully your continued support through the weekly envelope collection helped offset these expenses leaving some money to help cover the capital expenditure and the cost of the maintenance of the church building.

Further funds were received through bequests and donations paid directly to the parish account. These covered many of the outstanding expenses for 2009.

B.E. (BEGINNING EXPERIENCE) is a support group for those coping with the pain of loss of their life partner, through Death, Separation or Divorce. Few people are able to cope alone with the pain of loss. Do you find that you need more support than family and friends can provide? Seeking help is a sign of strength and self-knowledge - not weakness. This is a healing ministry, which helps to resolve the grief that goes with the end of a marriage or relationship. Coping effectively with bereavement is a skill we can all learn. A team, who are themselves widowed, separated or divorced share their experiences with you. The next Coping Programme will commence on Wednesday 8th September 2010 at 7.30pm in White Friars Community Centre, Aungier St., Dublin 2. For further information, phone 087 2742451 or email bedublin@gmail.com
